Job Function Filter

The Job Function filter lets you target leads based on their area of work within an organization. It is broader than Job Title - instead of matching exact title keywords, it groups people by their function (Sales, Marketing, Engineering, etc.) regardless of how their specific role is named.

How It Works

Select one or more job functions and Prospi will return all people categorized under those functions. This is especially useful when the same role has many different title variations across companies.

Available Job Functions

  • Sales - Sales reps, account executives, business development, SDRs

  • Marketing - Marketing managers, demand gen, content, growth, brand

  • Engineering - Software developers, CTOs, engineering managers, DevOps, QA

  • Operations - Operations managers, COOs, process and logistics leads

  • Finance - CFOs, finance managers, accountants, controllers, FP&A

  • Human Resources - HR managers, recruiters, talent acquisition, people ops

  • Customer Success - Customer success managers, account managers, support leads

  • Product - Product managers, product directors, CPOs

  • Design - UX/UI designers, creative directors, brand designers

  • Legal - General counsel, legal managers, compliance officers

  • Executive - C-suite and senior leadership across all functions

How to Use It

  1. Open Lead Finder and go to the Person filters section

  2. Click on Job Function

  3. Select one or more functions relevant to your target audience

  4. Combine with Seniority to narrow down to decision-makers within that function

Job Function vs. Job Title

  • Use Job Function when you want broad coverage of a department and do not want to miss leads with unusual title variations

  • Use Job Title when you need to target a very specific role by name

  • Use both when you want to combine precision and breadth (e.g. Job Function = Engineering + Job Title keyword = "security" to find security engineers)

Pro tip: If your offer solves a problem for a specific team, filtering by Job Function and combining with a Seniority level is often faster and more complete than manually listing every possible job title for that team.
