LinkedIn Industry Filter

The LinkedIn Industry filter targets companies based on the industry they have self-selected on their LinkedIn company page. Because companies choose this label themselves, it often reflects how they see their own identity - which can differ from external classifications.

How to Use It

  1. Open Lead Finder and go to the Company filters section

  2. Click on LinkedIn Industry

  3. Search for and select one or more LinkedIn industry categories

LinkedIn Industry vs. Industry

  • LinkedIn Industry - Self-reported by the company on LinkedIn. More granular (e.g. "Computer Software" vs just "Technology"). Limited to LinkedIn’s fixed category list.

  • Industry - Prospi’s enriched classification. May capture companies that haven’t fully completed their LinkedIn profile.

For verticals that are well-defined on LinkedIn (e.g. "Financial Services", "Real Estate", "Legal Services"), this filter is often more precise.

Tips

  • Use alongside Industry: Combine both filters to maximize coverage - some companies only have one or the other populated

  • Watch for overlap: LinkedIn’s category "Information Technology and Services" covers a very wide range. Combine with Company Size or other filters to narrow results.
